Maury Loontjens Memorial Library Materials Loan Policy

The materials loan policy was created in order to allow patrons to borrow materials within the context of a sharing community that provides equal and fair access to all types of materials for everyone. In order to inspire patrons to keep sharing, we ask patrons to return items in a timely manner and to avoid keeping materials beyond the due date as it limits access for others. Fine forgiveness is available under certain circumstances – please see a staff member to discuss your account if needed.

Please Note:

  • The day after the due date, materials will be considered overdue unless renewed
  • Fines do not accrue on days the library is closed
  • *Items are only renewable (up to 2 times) when there are no other requests on that title, at time of renewal
  • Items overdue for more than 30 days will be accessed a replacement cost.
  • Payments for lost items can be refunded should item(s) be found within 30 days of payments, as long as payment was made at NAR Library (no refunds for online payments)
  • Fees and fines are determined by the owning library’s policy
  • Fees in excess of $10 or more will prevent use of services
  • Up to 99 items can be checked out at one time and a limit of 5 DVD’s per library card.
  • A maximum of 25 holds (requests) can be on a patron’s account at one time
