The Children’s Room offers a variety of services appropriate for young learners,including a puppet play area, dollhouse, and train set. We also have puzzles, board books, coloring stations, a craft area, and more. Programs include story times, and seasonal events. Try out our latest edition to our computers, ABC Mouse, which families can use at the library for free!
We participate in 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. Special thanks to Rock Spot and the Friends of Narragansett Library for their help providing coupons, balloons, and books for participants. Contact us to find out how to participate! Story time participation is encouraged, but not required.

All story time typically takes place during the school year. When you sign up for the first class, you are registered for the following classes within the session. Class size is limited; registration is required for toddler and pre-school storytimes.
Baby and Me (ages birth-23 months):
Friday Mornings, 10:00am – 10:30am
Babies ages birth to 23 months are invited to bring their favorite adult to this fun and interactive program. We will share simple books, lap bounces, songs, rhymes and finger plays. Time for socialization and free play with age appropriate toys will follow.
Toddler Story Time (2’s and 3’s):
Wednesday Mornings, 10:00am – 10:30am
A story time session for children ages 2 & 3 with parent or caregiver. Join in stories, songs, finger-plays, a craft, and snack. Time for socialization and free play with age appropriate toys will follow.
Pre-School Story Time (Ages 3-5):
Thursday Mornings, 10:00am – 10:45am
A story time session for children ages 3, 4, & 5 with parent or caregiver. Join in stories, songs, finger-plays, a craft and snack. Time for socialization and free play with age appropriate toys will follow.
