If you want to sign up online, sign up here if you (or your child) is between 0-12, or here if you (or your child) is between 13-19 (links will not work until June 29th). If you want to sign up on paper, please come in on or after June 29th for paper registration. Please do not register online AND paper. Please just choose one : )
How Summer Reading works!
• Sign up online or on paper, starting June 29th for Summer Reading at Maury Loontjens Memorial Library. If you can’t make it either of those days, you are welcome to sign up any other day before the end of July.
• Make a weekly reading goal of how many books you’ll read per week (this would be listed as an activity challenge if registered online). The online version won’t let you complete any challenges until you complete that activity first. It’s okay if you don’t make your goal every week. We are all human, and all we can do is try our best. If one whole book is too hard for a goal for you right now, try half a book, or a quarter of a book. Try to challenge yourself without discouraging yourself.
• Read, listen, or be read to and receive 1 raffle ticket or weekly prize for when you meet your weekly reading goal! Remember to log all the books you read online or on paper (depending on which way you signed up for Summer Reading).
• The more tickets put towards the drawing, the more chance you have to win!
• Complete activities and/or register and attend programs to earn more tickets to put towards prizes. Have fun!
Raffle Prizes
• Winners will be notified by phone. In the event we cannot reach the winners by phone we will attempt notification by email that is associated with the account.
• You could win one of 6 fun-filled baskets if your between the ages of 0-12, and a gift certificate for aged 13-19! Each basket is filled with a different Lego set, a “growing” salamander, candy, a different kite, and more! Come in to see all of the different baskets!
• You can also win a weekly prize instead of a raffle ticket for reaching your weekly goal! These weekly prizes are a buy one get one free ice cream coupon, a chocolate surprise, Adventure Land Carousel coupon
